The past continuous describes ac- 

tionsor events in a time before now, 

which began in the past and is still

過去進行時描述了一個發(fā)生在過去的動

作，說話的時候仍在進行。

usage 

1.Something was happening in the past. 

表示過去某一時間正在進行的動作。

He was repairing his bike. 

他在修理自行車。

2. It can be used to describe something 

that was happening continuously in 

the past when another action inter- 

ruptedit. 

描述一件事發(fā)生的背景；一個長動作發(fā)

生的時候，另一個短動作也發(fā)生了。

3.With "wonder", to make a very polite 

request.
