A Revolutionary, Politically Correct Story You've Never Heard! ——Little Red Riding Hood 

There was a young person who lived with her mum on the edge of a large wood. One day her mum asked her to take some fresh fruit and bottled water to her grandma's house--not because this was womyn's work but because what they did was thoughtful and helped develop a sense of community. In fact, Grandma was not sick, but rather was healthy both in body and in spirit. Besides, she could take good care of herself without any problems. 

So little Red Riding Hood set off with her basket thru the woods. Many people usually believed that the forest was a scary and dangerous place and they never set foot in it. A young lady, however, she was confident enough. 

On the way she saw a wolf, who asked her what was in her basket. She answered proudly,"Some healthful snacks for my grandma, who is both young at heart and in spirit." 

The wolf said, "You know, my dear, it isn't safe for a little girl to walk thru these woods alone." 

Red Riding Hood replied, "You look so down upon womyn that I will take no notice of you. Yet, I understand you more or less because you shoulder the pressure from the public. It has led you to hold this kind of negative attitude. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must be on my way." 

She walked on along the main path. But, he was an outcast from the mainstream society, the wolf didn't have to stick to Western-styled thought. He knew a short cut to Grandma's house. He burst into the house and swallowed Grandma at one go. He thought it natural for him to have done that. Then he put on Grandma's nightclothes and crawled into bed. 

Red Riding Hood entered the cottage and sang sweetly," Grandma, I've brought you some fat-free, bubbles-free snacks to show my respect for your role of a wise and nurturing member of the baby-boomer generation." 

From the bed, the wolf whispered softly, "So that I might see you better, come closer, child." 

Red Riding Hood sighed, "Oh, I forgot you are eyesight-challenged like a bat. Grandma, what big eyes you have!" 

"They have seen so much, and forgiven so much, my dear." 

"Grandma, what a big nose you have--only in comparison with most people's. Of course, and certainly attractive in its own way." 

"It has smelled so much, and forgiven so much, my dear." 

"Grandma, what big teeth you have!" 

The wolf said, "I am happy with who I am and what I am," and then jumped out of bed. He grabbed Red Riding Hood in his claws, going to devour her. She screamed, not out of alarm at the wolf's cross-dressing, but because he had stepped into her personal comfort zone. 

Her screams were heard by a passing woodchopper-person (or log-fuel technician, as he preferred to be called). When he burst into the cottage, he saw the noisy hand-fight and he tried to step in. But as he raised his ax, Red Riding Hood and the wolf both stopped. 

"And just what do you think you're doing?!" asked she. 

The woodchopper-person blinked and tried to answer, but no words came to him. 

"Bursting in here like a primitive person, trusting your weapon to do your thinking for you!" she exclaimed. "Sexist! Speciesist! How dare you think that womyn and wolves can't solve their own problems without a man's help!" 

'When Grandma heard her granddaughter's fiery speech, she leaped out of the wolf's mouth, seized the woodchopper-person's ax, and chopped his head off! 

After this severely unique experience, Red Riding Hood, Grandma, and the wolf felt a certain commonality of purpose. They decided to set up an unusual household based on respect for one another and newly-founded co-operation, and they lived in the woods happily ever after.
