Humanities: 9/6 Identity Portfolio & Family Tree

This project pulls everything we learn for Language Arts, Social Studies, and ourselves for this unit. Ahhh….Humanities! 

What needs to be included in your family tree? 
- Name 
- Relationship to you 
- Place of birth 
- Where they live now 
- 3 Interesting experiences this person has had 

Why are we doing this? 
To help us come up with possibile ideas for our Historical Narrative and Identity Portfolio 

Where can you get help? 
Talk with your parents. You may not know all your aunts’ or uncles’ information. Keep your end product in mind as you fill out your relatives’ experiences. 

What can you use to complete the family tree? 
- paper (draw it by hand) 
- familyecho.com (see below) 
- geni.com 
- anything else that works for you 

What should you do when you are done? 
- Keep your family tree. 
- Use the information to help you identify a family member to use as a primary source (interview). 
- Include the family tree in your Identity Portfolio. 

When is it due? 
- Work on your family tree tonight and over the weekend. Friday in class we will talk about how to use the family tree to help come up with ideas. Talk with your parents!!!
