Social Studies Focus
-We will be looking at different times of change throughout history. Students will be selecting 1-2 historical changes to research more in depth

Summative Assessments
1. Poetry Portfolio due Monday, April 15
- Includes at least SEVEN poems
- Two poems about a historical change from a positive perspective
- Two poems about a historical change from a negative perspective
- Two poems about change from a personal perspective
- 1 SLAM poem (see below)
- Includes at least FOUR different types of poems
- Contains an expository afterword giving facts about the time period(s) studies
2. Poetry Slam Tuesday and Wednesday, April 16-17
- A performance of an origianl poem about change in your life
- Will be performed in front of an audience
- Committed to memory
- Approximately two minutes in length
- Will be assessed for PIPES (projection, inflection, pacing, eye contact, stance)
