Jack, Annie, Teddy, and Kathleen journeyed to the Land-Behind-the-Clouds to retrieve Merlin’s Staff of Strength.
They trudged across the frozen plain and went into the ice palace.
The Ice Wizard demanded Jack and Annie to undo the bargain with the Fates, then took his eye back before the break of day.
They found the Norns in a large, snowy white mound.
The Norns told them lots of stories about the Ice Wiard and the Frost Giant.
Jack and Annie got the Wizard’s eye in the heart of the hailstone. Then the Frost Giant came back to the Hollow Hill.
The wolves saved Jack and Annie after an avalanche of snow came crashing down the hillside. Then they took the eye back to the ice palace at dawn.
At first, the Wizard’s eye didn’t work. However, it did work as his sister came back. Morgen and Merlin were returned from the wolves with the help of Merlin’s Staff of Strength.
