For this weekend, Grandma Min presents young parents with some food for thought - a little poem Giddyup! 

Giddyup! 

"That horsey is so big," I said, 
"And I'm so very small. 
Please don't put me up there,Mom, 
I'm scared that I might fall." 

But she sat me in the saddle 
With a reassuring grin, 
And when I whispered,"Giddyup..." 
He took off like the wind. 

He ran through a forest 
Full of branches and trees, 
So I lowered my head 
And aqueezed with my knees. 

I said to myself, 
"It's time to be bold! 
Somehow I've got 
To take over control." 

I was gone three days, 
Mom thought I was lost. 
But it took me that long 
To show him who's boss. 

I can't believe I was so afraid, 
Afraid that I might fail. 
But now I wonder-yes,I do- 
Do you think I could saddle a whale? 


At the very beginning, the little boy, who must be under 10 for he called the horse "horsey", was scared out of his socks and protested desperately. However, his Mom just flashed "a reassuring grin", which was decisive and also indicated "You can do it !!!" 

You know, that is the big difference between parents in English-speaking countries and parents in our country. 

In the process of riding, the boy felt the horsey's speed, saw a forest ... Finally, it occurred to him that "It's time to be bold!" It took him 3 days in a row to challenge himself and to bring the horsey under control. 

In the end, the boy had boosted his courage so much that he even wanted to saddle a whale! 

Many parents in China relish overshielding their kids. And quite a bunch of them have made a shockingly big mess of their children !!! 

The only-child policy has churned out the Peter-Pan Generation.Therefore, I'm not so sure whether the offspring of this generation can be acceptable to the international community. 

After reading the poem, please put it up on the wall because it can keep reminding you that ...
