Math Riddles
Ten Piles of Coins
You have ten (infinitely large) piles of coins. Nine of the piles have 1 gram coins, and one of the piles has fake coins that weigh 2 grams. How can you determine which pile is fake using only a bathroom scale, only once, to measure one set of coins?
Thousand Piles of Coins
Similar problem as ten piles, except that now there are 1000 piles. Each pile contains coins that all have the same weight, but the weight can be any whole (natural) number. Using a bathroom scale only _twice_, how can you determine they weight of EVERY pile.
