她是華人銀行家，也是“肚皮舞娘”和“美食主播”丨新中國(guó)人No.1

今天，雙語(yǔ)君（微信ID：Chinadaily_Mobile）要隆重地為大家介紹中國(guó)日?qǐng)?bào)歐洲分社推出的一個(gè)全新系列欄目《新中國(guó)人》（The New Chinese）。

何為“新中國(guó)人”？

端盤子、干雜工，拖家?guī)Э趻昝?dāng)今的海外中國(guó)人還是這么苦于生計(jì)么？絕對(duì)不是。

拿英國(guó)來(lái)說(shuō)，新一代的旅英中國(guó)移民，有很多有學(xué)識(shí)、有地位、有眼界，更有思想和胸懷的代表，他們不斷更新著西方世界對(duì)中國(guó)移民的陳舊認(rèn)知。

在這檔欄目里，我們將一起走進(jìn)幾位旅居英國(guó)的同胞，不論是銀行家……

外交官……

還是教育家……

或是企業(yè)家……

他們不僅證明了自己，更樹(shù)立了中國(guó)人在海外的新形象，成為“新中國(guó)人”。

今天，讓我們先來(lái)認(rèn)識(shí)一下吳放（Cecilia Wu），這個(gè)江南妹子幾度放棄安穩(wěn)的現(xiàn)狀，不斷挑戰(zhàn)新環(huán)境，不僅在英國(guó)活出了多姿多彩的人生，而且心懷包容世界的夢(mèng)想，因?yàn)樗J(rèn)為“新中國(guó)人”應(yīng)該是一個(gè)“世界公民”。

漂洋過(guò)海 白手起家

眼前的Cecilia舞姿曼妙、活力四射。然而換上職業(yè)裝，踩上高跟鞋，她的職業(yè)身份是英國(guó)頂級(jí)私人銀行顧資銀行（Coutts and Co. ）的一名高級(jí)財(cái)富分析員，每天穿梭在倫敦金融城。

在顧資銀行供職是什么概念？

這家300多年歷史的銀行從20世紀(jì)開(kāi)始，一直專門為英國(guó)皇室貴族以及各種富豪客戶打理資產(chǎn)，也就是說(shuō) ，現(xiàn)任女王伊麗莎白二世就是他們的VIP客戶。

Coutts and Co., with a history of more than 300 years, was established in 1692. It originally belonged to Thomas Coutts’s family but now is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland group. Until the 20th century the bank served Britishnobilityandlanded gentry. It still serves the British royal family but now also manages the assets of a wide range of wealthy clients.

撲面而來(lái)的高大上感覺(jué)有木有？

一個(gè)外國(guó)人如何能進(jìn)入皇室御用銀行供職呢？這對(duì)于很多英國(guó)人來(lái)說(shuō)都是不可實(shí)現(xiàn)的夢(mèng)想，Cecilia已經(jīng)成為了其中的佼佼者，如此成功圓滿的人生，還是幾經(jīng)曲折。

Cecilia出生在江西省的一個(gè)小鎮(zhèn)，后隨父母搬遷珠海，在那里生活了13年直到上完高中。高中畢業(yè)后，她第一次來(lái)到中國(guó)北方，在遼寧大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)金融，兩年后選擇退學(xué)。

"I was born in a small town in Jiangxi province to a very creative andentrepreneurialfamily. My dad's an architect and my mum's (working) in a kindergarten, so I spent in Jiangxi probably about five years, until then we moved down to Zhuhai, and spent 13 years there for schooling."

"I didn't feel I really belonged there and therefore I kind of took a very tough decision. I basically gave up my degree there and came to the UK to pursue my bachelor's degree."

我覺(jué)得我并不屬于那里，所以我做出了一個(gè)非常艱難的決定，就是放棄在遼寧大學(xué)已攻讀兩年的本科學(xué)位，來(lái)到英國(guó)重新開(kāi)始讀學(xué)士學(xué)位。

環(huán)境生，朋友少，如何融入新的環(huán)境，對(duì)于2008年來(lái)到英國(guó)Cecilia來(lái)說(shuō)，挑戰(zhàn)開(kāi)始了。

"I remember the first night I went to the pub and then two o'clock in the morning when we walked back to the uni and no one really talked to me, and I was like following them at the back behind. But then at that point I was telling myself, I said, 'Ceci you know what, you can do this. You know you can make a lot of great friends. You're going to make your new life here.'"

我記得自己第一次去酒吧的那個(gè)晚上。凌晨?jī)牲c(diǎn)鐘，當(dāng)我們走回大學(xué)校園時(shí)，沒(méi)有人跟我說(shuō)話，我就像在后面尾隨他們的人一樣。但那時(shí)，我就告訴自己，Ceci你知道嗎，你可以做到的，你可以結(jié)交很多的好朋友，你將在這里展開(kāi)你的新生活。

不忘初心 方得始終

本科畢業(yè)后，Cecilia選擇在英國(guó)繼續(xù)攻讀投資管理碩士學(xué)位，也就是在這時(shí)，她開(kāi)始漸漸萌生了畢業(yè)后要去顧資這樣頂級(jí)的私人銀行工作的想法。

"What I did is basically just do some research and found out the top 10 best private banks in the UK and made a list and somehow Coutts just jumped out on the paper straight away. I think it's because of the history and also the character."

（在申請(qǐng)工作之前），我做了一些調(diào)查研究，羅列出英國(guó)前十的私人銀行。不知怎么回事，顧資就一下子吸引了我，我想是因?yàn)轭欃Y的歷史和特點(diǎn)。

她申請(qǐng)了顧資的管培生項(xiàng)目，結(jié)果不出所料，沒(méi)能入選。

但是，Cecilia目標(biāo)明確，初心不改，她繼續(xù)嘗試，為自己贏得了一個(gè)在蘇格蘭皇家銀行工作的機(jī)會(huì)，算是實(shí)現(xiàn)了一個(gè)小目標(biāo)。

原來(lái)，顧資銀行原屬Thomas Coutts家族，后來(lái)成為蘇格蘭皇家銀行集團(tuán)的一部分，這一步可算是打進(jìn)了集團(tuán)內(nèi)部。

“I got a phone call. 'Oh actually I know you're not successful for Coutts because positions were filled up but we've got our RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) retails schemes if you wanted to join and if you wanted to apply because we really liked you, and then they were like there was private banking there as well.'"

我接到了一個(gè)電話，對(duì)方說(shuō)：“其實(shí)我們知道你沒(méi)能入選顧資的項(xiàng)目，因?yàn)槟沁吶艘呀?jīng)滿了，不過(guò)如果你愿意加入的話，我們現(xiàn)在有蘇格蘭皇家銀行的零售銀行管培生項(xiàng)目可供申請(qǐng)。我們非常看好你，并且這個(gè)項(xiàng)目也涉及私人銀行業(yè)務(wù)。”

她果斷接受了這份工作，實(shí)現(xiàn)夢(mèng)想已經(jīng)在路上！

"I mean my first plan was to get through the door first and then try to work my way around I'm sure I can get there."

我想說(shuō)的是，我最初的打算是先入門，再試著一步一步爭(zhēng)取自己想要的。我相信我能做到。

Cecilia是這個(gè)職位3000個(gè)申請(qǐng)人中唯一入選的中國(guó)人，又憑借在蘇格蘭皇家銀行管培生項(xiàng)目中的優(yōu)異表現(xiàn)很快晉升。

一步一步脫穎而出的Cecilia卻從未放棄終極夢(mèng)想，她一直對(duì)顧資銀行保持關(guān)注，尋求機(jī)會(huì)跳槽。

想做成一件事，辦法總比困難多。

為了接觸到顧資的內(nèi)部，Cecilia花了不少心思：積極關(guān)注任何與顧資有關(guān)的信息和人士，同時(shí)她掌握到顧資銀行一位資深員工的信息，并主動(dòng)與之取得了聯(lián)系，希望這名員工能成為她的導(dǎo)師。經(jīng)過(guò)多次的交流和溝通，導(dǎo)師被Cecilia的積極向上主動(dòng)進(jìn)取的態(tài)度打動(dòng)。

機(jī)會(huì)總留給有準(zhǔn)備的人，導(dǎo)師在顧資出現(xiàn)職位空缺的時(shí)候推薦了Cecilia,  在集團(tuán)內(nèi)部努力多年的Cecilia也不負(fù)眾望拿下了面試。

故事講到這里，似乎是個(gè)圓滿的結(jié)局，然而， 擺在Cecilia面前的是一個(gè)更艱難的選擇：

"At the same time, basically I was also actually a private banking manager looking after a portfolio in Canary Wharf, so I was like, 'Should I stay as a private banking manager working in a fancy Canary Wharf building or should I come to Coutts and learn from the bottom?'"

當(dāng)時(shí)我已經(jīng)是私人銀行經(jīng)理了，在金絲雀碼頭有屬于自己的客戶群。當(dāng)時(shí)我問(wèn)我自己，我是應(yīng)該繼續(xù)留在光鮮亮麗的金絲雀碼頭做一個(gè)私人銀行經(jīng)理，還是應(yīng)該去顧資從零開(kāi)始學(xué)習(xí)？

最終，在安逸的現(xiàn)狀和多年的夢(mèng)想之間，Cecilia選擇了堅(jiān)持初心。她毅然決定來(lái)到顧資，從頭開(kāi)始，并最終在這個(gè)夢(mèng)想中的公司里有了屬于自己的位置。

白領(lǐng)生活家

脫下職業(yè)裝，走進(jìn)操課廳，Cecilia成了一個(gè)肚皮舞娘，黃皮膚姑娘和肚皮舞更配的有木有？
 

"I discovered belly dancing in a gym and I really loved it, because you know with Oriental and Egyptian cultures, and I think belly dancing is a way for women to express themselves in a sensual way, in a beautiful way, so much emotion, with the dancing and movement. And it can make a woman like me very confident about myself. And so it's a way of expressing yourself really."

我在健身房發(fā)現(xiàn)了肚皮舞這種舞蹈，并且非常喜歡。在東方和埃及文明中，肚皮舞可以讓女性通過(guò)這一感官的、美好的方式，伴隨著舞蹈和律動(dòng)，感情飽滿地展現(xiàn)身體美。它可以讓像我一樣的女孩變得更加自信，并且可以真實(shí)地展現(xiàn)自我。

工作忙，跳舞累，沒(méi)有美食犒勞自己怎么可以。Cecilia不僅養(yǎng)成了為自己準(zhǔn)備健康、美味的飲食習(xí)慣，熱愛(ài)分享的她運(yùn)營(yíng)了一個(gè)叫《Ceci的廚房》烹飪博客，曬美食，曬配方，專門為上班族提供解決午飯問(wèn)題的妙招。

"It comes from the idea as I found most people don't know what to bring for lunch, and because as working professionals, we are super busy, so I just thought why can't I help them?"

靈感來(lái)自于我發(fā)現(xiàn)大多數(shù)人都不知道午餐該吃什么，作為上班族，我們都太忙了，所以我就想為什么我不能幫幫他們呢？

有事業(yè)、有生活，怎不令人羨慕呢？

世界大同  不容定義

在中國(guó)出生，接受了中英兩種教育，供職英國(guó)皇家銀行，在英國(guó)生活工作十年，找到了屬于自己的生活，Cecilia是這樣理解中國(guó)文化的：
 

"I think Chinese are very forward-looking and open-minded. We're very open because we are a mix of cultures and we're very open to different new ideas and new things." 

我認(rèn)為中國(guó)人的思維非常具有前瞻性和開(kāi)放性。開(kāi)放是因?yàn)槲覀內(nèi)诤狭瞬煌幕?，?lè)于接納各種新想法和新事物。

因此，Cecilia認(rèn)為自己更像一個(gè)世界公民：

"I feel really proud to be a Chinese living in London. But I think sometimes it's probably more down to the person itself as well, because I don't want to frame only a Chinese, English, kind of pigeonhole on ourselves. I think it's more sort of we're global citizens and everybody is the same."

作為生活在倫敦的中國(guó)人我非常自豪。但我認(rèn)為你的歸屬有時(shí)候更多的取決于自己的想法，因?yàn)槲也幌氚炎约簡(jiǎn)渭兊囟x為一個(gè)中國(guó)人，或者一個(gè)英國(guó)人，類似這種條條框框。我認(rèn)為我們更像是世界公民，每個(gè)人都一樣。

有著包容世界的情懷，Cecilia希望利用自己的財(cái)富管理技能，在英國(guó)和中國(guó)之間架起橋梁。

"I want to bring obviously the culture. I think really the culture needs to be integrated. So I think for me I can play a role in that, and be the ambassador for what the new Chinese is like or what the new China is like. That probably sounds a bit too big, but that's what I want to do and particularly in the private banking and wealth management space."

顯然我想帶來(lái)中國(guó)的文化。但現(xiàn)在我認(rèn)為文化需要相互交融。所以我想我可以在這方面發(fā)揮一些作用。至于定義為新中國(guó)人或新時(shí)代中國(guó)的形象大使，這可能聽(tīng)起來(lái)有點(diǎn)太大了。但這正是我想要做的，特別是在個(gè)人銀行業(yè)務(wù)和財(cái)富管理領(lǐng)域。

中國(guó)人可以作為英國(guó)富豪的理財(cái)師，可以引領(lǐng)英國(guó)白領(lǐng)的健康時(shí)尚生活。
