這本小說特別適合有弟弟妹妹的小朋友閱讀，也適合他們的父母。四年級的peter有一個三歲的小弟弟，他愛弟弟，但有時候會覺得被父母忽略。peter的媽媽是一位比較有智慧的媽媽，她能隨時感受到大兒子的情緒變化，給予他情感上的滿足。書中的很多情節(jié)都非常可愛好笑，孩子的心理描寫也很生動，因此，這本書在很多國外的推薦書單中出現(xiàn)。但獨(dú)生子女讀了沒有什么共鳴，所以打了四個星。
