Shanghai’s Newest IB School 虹橋國際學(xué)校有了IB認(rèn)證

Shanghai has a brand new IB school. Rainbow Bridge International School this week （March 29th, 2012) received its official notification from the International Baccalaureate (IB) that they’re now recognized as an IB World School. School Principal Rebecca Zipprich announced the news saying, “The IB PYP will support not only our commitment to preparing students for success, but also our commitment to multicultural education.” 

RBIS is authorized to offer the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) to preschool to Grade Six students effective immediately. It’s a big achievement for this small environmentally-aware school located in the grounds of Shanghai Zoo. Congratulations! 

So what’s so good about IB? If you’re not familiar with the International Baccalaureate, it focuses on inquiry-based learning with many different disciplines being used to explore topics. Zippich says, “The IB impels us to offer a more global, interdisciplinary curriculum providing our students with critical thinking skills that will set them apart from their peers.”
