- [ ] 單詞卡片:engineer, design process, solution

## 課堂引導(dǎo)

### Warm-up

1. Why are we doing this? (1min) 
You can be a scientist or an engineer (or both). 
Now let’s find out how. 
2. Safety in Science (2 min) 
Read seven rules about doing a science lab. We will review them when we actually do a lab project. 
 

### Unit 1: Engineering Design Process

1. Introduction: (1 min) 
 - [ ] Play the video about the highway, answer the question 
- Vocabulary: (5 min) 
 - [ ] Guide the student to read the words and definitions: engineer, design process, solution 
 

- [ ] Play vocabulary game

2. Lesson 1: What Is a Design Process? 
 - [ ] Show the picture of the robot competition, explain (2 min) 
 - [ ] Play the video about the ramps (2 clips, 2 min) 
 

- [ ] Define a ramp (1 min)

- [ ] Discussion: (10 min) 
 

  • What are the problems? (loading luggages/cases to the airplane, going to a higher stage)
  • What if we don’t use a ramp for these two problems? (need people to carry the cases to the airplane by stairs; using lifts)
  • What is common about these two applications in the videos? (both are transportation problems; moving from lower end to higher end; need power to move; slope is shallow; etc)
  • What are the differences between these two applications? (one uses belt, one uses wheels; one for things, one for people; one is automatic, one is manual, etc)
  • Have you seen any other ramp application? (Underground parking lots; playground slides; airplane escape slides; highway ramps)

3.What Engineers Do: (8 min) 
- [ ] Play the online video (2min) 
- [ ] Step 1: Define a Problem, play the online video (1 min) 
- [ ] Define a problem within our house. Record it in the Evidence Notebook. (5 min)

結(jié)合課本和網(wǎng)絡(luò)賬號(hào)。很多材料書(shū)上有詳細(xì)解釋,網(wǎng)絡(luò)賬號(hào)上有視頻解釋。唯一的要求是父母英語(yǔ)要好

做得太棒了,真是又細(xì)致又有條理,而且還專業(yè),我覺(jué)得完全可以放在大課堂中用。我最近也參考了wonders的教師手冊(cè),它也都細(xì)化到老師講什么樣的話的程度,如果家長(zhǎng)(似乎絕大多數(shù)是雞媽)英語(yǔ)表達(dá)上比較好,教學(xué)效果應(yīng)該不差多少。
